Pan Provider Solution Framework
The Pan Provider solution is
an approach whereas a service model allows a group of
carriers to sell dynamically provisioned end service
(Metro Ethernet, Managed VPN’s) that are atomically
comprised of service from several carriers, across several
technologies. At the heart of this are several carrier
challenges:
- Service providers are looking to
participate in variable revenue streams, above and
beyond simple leased access of a ingress and egress
leased access service.
- Service providers are looking to
meet needs for Internet Access services, whereas the
customer requirement is for “better than”
best effort Internet Access service.
- Service providers are looking to
associate cost accounting and revenue accounting at
the service level, rather than a model that simply
spreads costs across all users. This paves the way
for justifying revenue and cost for premium services.
- Service providers need to create
a services ecosystem that recognizes the participation
of 3rd party application providers and 3rd party network
suppliers.
TrueSMS Services Framework can
tie together a variety of functional islands and model
them into a common, congruent management system. In
the Pan Provider solution, there is a customer consuming
services and applications from three service providers.
In this environment, there is no real vehicle to integrate
the service across all vested providers. TrueSMS negotiates
the bindings between the three public service providers.
True SMS allows each service provider to advertise and
share the public attributes of each service providers
endpoints. In doing so, TrueSMS will correlate common
public attributes and establish “policy based”
bindings, for the service, across these public domains.
At the same time, the Access based Service provider
can use private domain attributes that create the appropriate
“private” domain connectivity to seamlessly
establish this service … that is composed of multiple
carriers, multiple domains, multiple equipment providers
and multiple BSS/OSS solutions.
